Industrial Automation
Written by Dan Pelland

Here's help with solving your automation problems. Need to upgrade a product or manufacturing process? Need automatic controls? Intimidated by automation costs? Help is a phone call away. I'm Dan Pelland, control system designer, solo practitioner, licensed electrician. With years of practical experience, plus training in electronics, programming and drafting, I've got the tools I need to help you solve your automation challenges. My hand-picked vendors specialize in quality and low cost components. They run fabrication shops dedicated to producing safe, expertly crafted UL certified industrial control panels.

Here's how you can start automating now

I'll visit your site or set up a tele-conference to meet with your staff for analysis of your needs. Then I'll prepare a free results-based quote that considers all project costs:

Engineering

Materials

Labor

Shipping

Consulting

(Travel outside the Chicago area is not included in project costs)

When you’re satisfied with the quote, I'll prepare shop drawings and schedule the build. That’s when payment is due for engineering work.

I'll arrange a meeting with the panel shop. There, you’ll have an opportunity to make financial arrangements for payment of materials, labor and shipping costs. While the panel is being built, I'll create software for any PLC, HMI or other programmable components. When the panel is ready, I'll load the software and do a pre-shipment system inspection.

On delivery of the system, I'll schedule a final site visit to assistwith installation and commissioning.

Automation drawings and documents

Creating and maintaining up-to-date, accurate documentation is key to the success of any automation project. When troubleshooting problems on new or existing systems, any qualified technician or control system designer must be able to repair or upgrade the system. You’d be in a bind if you had to reply only upon the designer who built your system.

As a part of every job, I provide a standard documentation package including a schematic drawing, a bill of materials, and all required labeling. For an additional charge, I will provide professional user and service manuals, ready to publish in print or on your web site.

Extras
